I had quite a great time at Table Manners. I was told it’s a gem of the East and it wasn’t so difficult to see why. It’s a fun place, with excellent food and lively atmosphere. What sets it apart from most brunch places is the concept of the menu. You get to sort of customise your own meal. Feeling carnivorous? Don’t add the veggies. I quite like their “Build Your Own Platter” menu. They’ve also got some very creative paper place mats that might help break the ice a bit on your first date with that special someone. Intrigued yet? Well for me, I had quite a lot of fun and enjoyed my food there.

The interior is simple yet quite creative because the tables and chairs were not arranged in the usual way. For those that like to have some private space might not enjoy the arrangement. Personally, I wasn’t bothered by it and I think it brings people closer together. Who knows, you might become friends with the person sitting next to you.
- Non-smoking area: Yes, both indoor and areas are smoke-free.
- Vegetarian dishes: Available.

– Food Experience –
1) Set A Lunch: Spicy Spaghetti Aglio Olio, Mushroom Ragout and Charred Broccoli with Garlic Crisps:
I’m a huge fan of spaghetti aglio olio and sauteed mushroom. This set did not disappoint me at all. The spaghetti was not overpoweringly spicy and the mushroom was perfectly cooked as well. The broccoli was crunchy but not the it’s-not-properly-cooked kind of crunchy. Who said a healthy dish can’t taste delicious?
2) Set B Lunch: Tomato & Mozzarella Salad, Truffle Fries, Cajun Style Marinated Whole Chicken Leg:
The chicken was juicy and tasty. I’m personally not a fan of salads (only because I think I just dislike anything raw… except for sashimi), but the one who ate it said it was, well, green and healthy. I love the subtle fragrance and unique taste of the truffle oil on the fries.
3) Set B Lunch: Truffle Fries, Mushroom Ragout, Striploin Steak
The steak was extremely average. It was too thin and the taste was mediocre, but it was cooked just right. Overall, nothing amazing. Quite a disappointment to the eater: a major meat lover.
