I was happy when I finally had the chance to visit the popular brunch place with my friends- GRUB. I think we quite enjoyed our food there, despite being seated at a non-air conditioned area on a usual hot afternoon. We had our late lunch there and the place was still packed even though I think it was an awkward time to have lunch. GRUB is located inside a huge park and at a considerably central area in Singapore. So go ahead grab your running shoes, go for a morning jog around the park and have a nice brunch. At least you won’t have to feel guilty stuffing yourself with food, food, and food.
– General Review –
- Service: 7/10
Service was quite standard, friendly staff, not exceedingly welcoming. Our food was served quite quickly.
- Servicescape: 7.5/10
The interior is modern with plenty of glass and wooden furnitures. I like how that helps with bringing in all the natural light and makes the place look more spacious. It has an outdoor concept, something that I believe is trending right now. It was quite crowded when I visited so I wasn’t expecting peaceful ambiance. I could see why GRUB is popular with the young population.
- Non-smoking area: Yes, both indoor and areas are smoke-free.
- Vegetarian dishes: Very limited.
- Price range: $$ (SGD10 – SGD20 for most main dishes.)
Overall Rating: 7.8/10
– Food Experience –
1) Chili Con Carne:
I loved the Chili Con Carne and thought it’s quite different from the usual ones I’ve had, because most of the time, restaurants use french fries instead of corn chips. It’s good for those who don’t feel too hungry but can’t resist eating. The portion can be shared with 2-4 people.
2) Pork Steak Burger:
Fragrant, soft buns and juicy meat patty are what make burgers so delicious. This is exactly what it is.
3) GRUB Cheeseburger:
What’s even better than just soft, fragrant buns, and juicy meat patty? Those PLUS cheese. I’m not much of a burger fan but this burger is unbelievably delicious.
Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. The cinnamon sugar makes it heavenly just by itself. But dip it in dark chocolate or the creme anglaise or both = sinful. You won’t regret it.
